Ingredients:

  • Rice
  • Olive oil
  • 1 onion
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 fist of raisins
  • ca. 3.5 oz almonds (whole, sliced or chopped)
  • Tumeric
  • 1 lb spinach leaves
  • Cardamom
  • Cumin
  • Salt
  • Water
  • Parsley
  • Black sesame for serving

 

Preparation:

Steam the rice in twice the amount of water adding a dash of salt and cardamom

In a large skillet, add the olive oil and gently sweat the chopped onion until translucent
Add the ground beef and roast until brown
Add raisins and almonds and stir
Mix in the tumeric
Clean and cut the spinach leaves (blanch) and add them to the skillet
Season with cardamom and cumin (not too much)
Add salt, and sir well
Add the water, put the lid on the skillet and leave it for about 5 to 10 minutes
Stir in the cut parsley

Serve with rice and top with some black sesame seeds - enjoy!

TCM effects: According to the TCM, this dish is very 'earthy', so it has many ingredients from the element earth and thus strengthens the middle - we all need that! It is thermally only slightly warming and therefore pleasant to eat even in the warmer season. (In winter I also add a pinch of cinnamon.) Spinach, raisins and beef tone the blood and give us strength and nourish our zest of life.
